Jade Flower Foster is a poet & spirit-forward storyteller committed to using language to repair church hurt for the LGBT community.

The Church Girl Gone God

Jade Flower’s work examines the richness of worship, the necessity of community and rallies audiences to prioritize, protect and exercise their imagination at all costs.

When my mother told me she had AIDS, it was a secret – but I in turn, told everybody- she was my mother, I loved her and she was going to live. I learned then, what I know now, I was called to minister. When she died, I decided God was a joke. Haha. When my church family rejected me because I was queer I knew god was a fake. Who’s there? Every poem and kincaid creates a new God for myself. And everyone can have some. – Jade Flower Foster

New collection of poems From Girl, To God - expected re-release Spring 2025.
